Introducing the Read, Share, Teach Workshops
Has professional reading and/or the purchase of expensive professional development programs led to significant change in your teachers' classroom practice?
Because we suspect the answer to both parts of this question may not be an unqualified "yes," Stenhouse is developing professional workshop materials--available free on-line--that extend our books beyond the printed page and, we hope, into your teachers' practice.

About the Workshops
We call these professional development workshops Read, Share, Teach (RST) because we believe these actions lie at the heart of significant change in the teaching profession.
Each workshop focuses on one book and, when available, its supporting videotape(s). The resources used in these workshops are:

The Facilitators' Guides
The workshops start with the on-line facilitators' guides. The facilitator could be you, a colleague, an administrator--anyone who's comfortable leading the group. The guides are provided as free, downloadable and printable PDF files, and there's a guide for each book/videotape(s). The guides are divided into three two-hour workshops and provide step-by-step explanations for guided professional reading, collaborative activities, careful assessment of student work, and assignments for testing teaching strategies between sessions.
